Area fire fighters raised over $14,000 for muscular dystrophy

The two fire stations in Centre Wellington ran an excellent campaign again this year to support Muscular Dystrophy research.

Centre Wellington Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj announced on Monday prior to the committee of the whole meeting that the Fergus and Elora fire stations managed to raise $14,243 in their two annual “boot” campaigns this year.

Ross-Zuj lauded the firefighters for their volunteer work in the community.

Firefighters use a toll road in Fergus and Elora to collect the cash for their campaign.

They, and fellow firefighters across Canada have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight against Muscular Dystrophy
