Area employers part of "Winning Combination"

The Employment Coordination Committee of Guelph Wellington (ECC) hosted the 24th Annual Employer Recognition and Awards Event, May 23 in Guelph.

The event celebrated the outstanding employers who have provided training and employment opportunities to individuals who have either faced employment difficulties or required workplace experience. The theme was, A Winning Combination, and illustrated cooperation and teamwork.

This year, the ECC was pleased to have Mayor Raymond Tout of Wellington North, Joanne Oliver, workforce planning and development with the City of Guelph, Janet Harrop, president of Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce and Lloyd Longfield, president of the Guelph Chamber of Commerce who all brought greetings to the audience.

Paul Osborne, director of marketing and recreation centre for Conestoga College, again emceed the event.

Sponsors included: the County of Wellington, Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin, Lutherwood, 2nd Chance Employment Counselling (Wellington) Inc., Community Living Guelph/Wellington.
