700 Tulips Planted at Arthur Cenotaph (Wellington Advertiser page 8. Friday October 23, by Olivia Rutt)"Arthur historical society has planted 700 tulips in a raised flower bed at the Arthur Cenotaph". These were a gift for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. It's good seeing members of a community coming together, and representing an important historical background of Canada. It's healthy for a community to represent something this important in our history. Why don't we do this? Fergus should do something similar. It's a great opportunity to come together and have a attraction to our Cenotaph Centre. I had the privilege of visiting the Netherlands in 2013. The people of the Netherlands are truly thankful for the work and sacrifice of Canadian soldiers during the second world war. It takes small tokens like tulips, that show people a deeper meaning behind the Cenotaph. It shows that we are proud of our soldiers for the work they have done, and we will never forget all of the Canadian soldiers who died in the process. I really hope Fergus emulates Arthur, by enriching the Cenotaph with deeper significance to the involvement of the community.
