I'm writing in response to the opinion piece, " Parents have nothing to fear from video games." The author said it perfectly when she highlighted a study about the negative effects of video game use and children: the "effect was entirely mitigated by a strong parent-child relationship." The common cold is mitigated by rest , and a pill or two. We have nothing to fear from a cold, but I don't wish it on my children. Before I sign off, I have two questions for the author. How much love and attention do I have to give my child to offset the damage done by playing an hour or two of Call of Duty? Also, does killing people on screen dangerously increase the level of cortisol stress hormones in children.?
