To the community,
On March 27th, the CWDHS Amnesty Club hosted the Hunger Banquet. It was a huge success, and close to $200.00 was raised for various charities.
The community was there to support us in every way. The Wellington Advertiser published an article, and our local radio station, the Grand at 92.9, interviewed me live on air. Both allowed us to tell the community more about the banquet.
The Elora Legion allowed us to use their facilities free of charge. This was beyond anything we expected, and we cannot thank them enough.
We had three amazing musicians during the night, Richard Maggs, Joe Atkinson and Matt Robichaud, that kept the room happy and full of energy!
Another huge contribution came from the student chefs, Francois Giguere and Chance Eberhardt. Francois spent almost eight hours in the kitchen, cooking for over thirty people, free of charge. His enthusiasm and hard work along the way couldn’t be matched by anyone.
Lastly, and most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended the event. We had a great turn out, saw a lot of smiling faces, and the donations we received were astonishing. I hope we can see you all return next year!
Thank you to all!
