I very much appreciated the article Revisiting History's Great battles except for one,important to me, error.Kris Svela writes that I abandoned work on unions because " they were moving too far to the left".It was not the unions but rather my fellow historians who transformed labour history into a field of study dominated by Marxism leaving little room for moderate income redistribution approaches.Unions have done much to create a more just and balanced society and when unions are crushed as in the United States everyone suffers.
