I spent a good many years living in Wellington County and this issue seems to come up every ten years. I hope the cottagers who control the name of their road hang on to it.
The swastika is an ancient symbol. The Nazis twisted it on its side and perverted it. When the Elora Legion held its annual Remembrance Day dinner, I never had any trouble in wiping my feet on the Nazi flag.
Swastika trail has nothing to do with Nazis. It is simply unfortunate that such war criminals appropriated a name that had been in Puslinch Township for decades, and should remain there for many more.
