PLEASE DISREGARD THE LETTER SUBMITTED BY ME YESTERDAY, SATURDAY, JAN. 21/17.

The following revised letter is now submitted for your consideration.

Recently the Advertiser deemed it newsworthy to include a story about a local woman and some friends who were planning a trip to Washington.  Often we read of confrontations over quarries, water, council decisions, competing hospital boards, etc.  We are told about impaired drivers and speeders.  All very serious issues.
Well, in a lighter vein folks should be made aware that there other "battles" taking place in town of equal and to some, more importance.  Last week at the Hold-em poker night at the Seniors Centre Joe had a straight flush, Dave had a full house (queens up), Bob lost 20 cents and began swearing as usual, Bonnie and Richard were absent, several people attended the washroom throughout the evening and Chuck has gone to Florida.  He'll be back in March.
