To the Editor...you may want to investigate why Jennifer Meeker, principal of Wellington Heights Secondary School, is vacationing in Costa Rica this week instead of being at work. With school boards across the province supposedly cracking down on questionable absences, how can this abuse of the system be allowed to continue? As a parent and a taxpayer this upsets me greatly. Has this "absence" been approved by the board because the last time I checked the students were still in school this week. Is she being paid while on this trip? The community deserves some answers to these questions. It should not be covered up. I realize this letter cannot be published as it is anonymous, but can someone from the paper please look into this?
