And they’re off… GrandWay Lounge now open

ELORA – The GrandWay Events Centre at the Grand River Raceway has re-opened, although capacity is limited to 50 guests.

The organization made the announcement after the province moved the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health region to orange last week.

The lounge will be allowed to host 50 patrons indoors. Strict COVID-19 protocols will still remain and guests will be required to sit in family groups and provide contact information for everyone in their party.

“It has been a long time coming but we are finally ready and able to share our new space with guests,” said Jamie Martin, director of operations at the Grand River Raceway.

The GrandWay Events Centre is the latest in facilities at the Grand River Raceway. Owned and operated by Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS), the event centre provides a series of welcoming spaces for weddings, parties and corporate events.

It is home also to the GrandWay Lounge which will broadcast simulcast racing and sporting events seven days a week from noon until 10pm.

In the short term, guests will be able to social distance and enjoy racing and sports, with bar service until 9pm in accordance with government policy.
