On March 23 over 120 guests attended the 9th Annual Winter Warmer, presented by Audi Kitchener-Waterloo, co-hosted by Beam Suntory, for the benefit of Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington at The Tannery.

The event was a debate style format, with international ambassadors debating different whisk(e)ys.

Guests tasted seven different whiskeys, from varying locations in Canada, the US, Scotland and Japan.

A tie was voted upon by guests, between American Bourbon and Scotch Whiskey.

Guests enjoyed appetizers, a live and silent auction, as well as chatting with the ambassadors and experts.

This year’s Winter Warmer – the Great Whisk(e)y Debate raised over $20,000 for Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington – the highest amount ever raised for this event.

“This event was our best-ever. Not only did we raise a fantastic amount of funds for our Society, but everyone who attended had a fabulous time,” said Michelle Martin, executive director of Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington.

“We hope that everyone saves the date for next year’s 10th Annual Event – the Winter Warmer Prohibition Party on March 24th 2018.”
