Alma squirts win third title in a row
For the third year in a row the Alma squirt girls fastball team has won the championship title.
During the season Alma played against Arthur, Chepstow, Drayton-Moorefield, and Mount Forest.
The club stayed in first place throughout the season. On Aug. 14, it began a series of championship tournament games.
Alma played Drayton-Moorefield at 9am and won. At 12:15pm ten of the players participated in a skills competition.
The next game was at 1:30pm against Chepstow, resulting in a loss. Alma then went on and played Drayton-Moorefield again at 3:30pm and won by one run.
At 5:30pm it played against Chepstow once again, winning 6-5.
Because it was a double knockout tournament, Alma had to play Chepstow one final game.
Alma broke a tie score at 7-6 late in the game and won the tournament.
