Changes to aggregate fees will mean additional payouts for Puslinch Township.

On Dec. 20, Puslinch councillors reviewed correspondence from North American Aggregates president and general manager Edilson Chimilovski on behalf of CBM Aggregates.

Chimilovski noted Ontario Regulation 244/97 under the Aggregate Resources Act (ARA) has been amended, resulting in changes to aggregate fees.

The Ontario Aggregate Resource Levy will increase from $0.115 to $0.198 per tonne.

Puslinch Mayor Dennis Lever said this change in the levy will account for about $230,000 in additional payout.
