Due to local response, an additional screening of the Green Legacy documentary is slated for Dec. 10.

In a News release from Wellington County communications officer Andrea Ravensdale, she said there were “several requests for staff and people who missed the first screening, to see the Green Legacy documentary.”

As a result, “Anyone wishing to see the documentary is welcome to watch it Dec. 10, at 8:45am in the council chambers.

The documentary will be screened prior to the inaugural council meeting later that morning.

“The 17 minute film shows the events leading up to the planting of the one millionth tree, and celebrates the school children, volunteers, organizations and people who have made the Green Legacy the largest municipal tree planting program in North America.”

The Green Legacy program was recently recognized by the United Nations Billion Tree Campaign for its exceptional contribution towards improving efficiency in the United Nations.
