There’s no top up provincial funding for 2017 infrastructure projects in Puslinch.

On March 7, councillors briefly reviewed correspondence from Joel Locklin, manager, infrastructure renewal programs.

The provincial government had received the township’s application for top-up funds under the 2017 Ontario Community Infrastructure (OCIF) program.

“Unfortunately we didn’t get that,” noted Mayor Dennis Lever.

The township had applied for Victoria Road rehabilitation but was not accepted.

Locklin stated “the ministry received hundreds of applications, and at this time, demand for the program exceeds available funding. While this project was not selected for funding under this intake, your municipality will be receiving $446,180 in formula-based funding from 2018 to 2020 to put towards important local infrastructure projects.”

He added the 2018 OCIF Top-up Application Component intake is expected to launch this spring.
