Acting clerk appointment extended

Following an in-camera meeting on Nov. 3, Minto council extended the appointment of Jane Steller until Dec. 24.

Steller was appointed at the acting clerk for the township back in September.

That appointment was intended to be temporary, to assist the town through the municipal election period and  until the town hired a CAO/Clerk, as recommended in its recent administrative restructuring.

However, since then, most of council was defeated in the Oct. 25 municipal elections - leaving the selection in the hands of the new council.
