The second West Luther Beef Club meeting was combined with the Vet Club and held at the farm of Jim Lindsay.

Charlie Twiss had the group line up in alphabetical order to receive our name tags and members were then split into four groups. The groups rotated from centres on grooming, cow stomach dissection, judging and nutrition.

At grooming members learned how to train calves hair to grow the way needed and tried brushing the calf .

At the dissection members learned cattle have four stomachs and their names and participated in a challenge to find a magnet in the first stomach (with gloves on).

For judging, the first year members learned how to judge so they had an opportunity to judge four steers.

At cow nutrition, groups learned how to feed calves to keep them healthy and if they’re not eating to try a new type of feed or hay.
