4-H pie club started

A new 4-H club has commenced in Guelph. Kids from all over the region have gathered to bake delicious pies.

During our first meeting, we elected our president Avery, our vice president Olivia, our secretary Megan and our press reporter Heidi.

We also named ourselves the Pie Wow Wows. After that, we learned about the different types of flour we could use for pie crusts. A short while later, we made our own little apple pies.

The best part? We got to eat them afterwards. To conclude the first meeting, we learned how to properly measure wet and dry ingredients.

At our second meeting, the leaders taught us about the different ways to make lemon meringue pies.

We split into groups to make different types of lemon  pies and then we got to sample them all. It’s debatable about whether the apple or lemon pies were better, but one thing that we know for sure: there are good flavours on the way in the weeks to come.
