The third meeting of the Mimosa 4-H Outdoor Club was held on June 7 where club members, leaders and parents met at the Starkey Hill Conservation Area in Puslinch.

President Sam opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge and after members sprayed themselves with bug repellent, we were divided into two groups to begin hiking the trails of this beautiful park.

At different points along the way, our leaders stopped members to point out geocache points.  Members hiked to the “lookout” point and were able to see the peaks of the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate church.

The other group crossed the road to follow their chosen trail.

During our hike, we heard several different bird sounds, saw many types of trees, discovered an area with many bird feeders, crossed over five wooden bridges, and greeted other hikers.

Two hours later, we met at our starting point, where members drank lots of water and president Sam closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.
