4-H club learns about barn quilting

On July 2 the Damascus 4-H barn quilting club held its second meeting at the Lennox’s house.

They opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge. Everyone then had the opportunity to share what the meaning of their quilt block was that they had chosen at the previous meeting.

Afterwards the group watched some videos that gave them tips on how to make their barn quilt look good. Once everyone had an idea what they were going to do they headed out to the barn where they would draw their quilt pattern onto the boards that they put primer on at the last meeting.

Many of the group members are ready to start painting their boards already.

To end the meeting the group members enjoyed a snack and closed the meeting with the 4-H motto.

In the next two meetings they worked on painting their boards. Some members are even close to being finished and everyone is having fun.
