DAMASCUS - The first meeting of the 4-H Damascus II Baking Club was held Oct. 13. They started the meeting with the 4-H pledge, led by club leader Janice.
They reviewed health and safety in the kitchen and how to prepare baked goods.
Then they were split into four groups, which all made dough. The dough was used to make two pizzas and two dozen cinnamon rolls.
Samples of each were tried, then everyone answered a survey about what they should make in the next few meetings of the baking club. The meeting was closed with the 4-H motto: “Learn to do by doing”.
