2009 user fee means council pays $160 per meeting for planners
Revised Wellington County user fees usually draw little discussion at Wellington North council.
But as acting mayor for the night, Wellington North Township councillor Dan Yake pointed out there were revised fees and charges in 2009 for the Wellington County.
Councillor John Matusinec cited the fees at the bottom of the chart, noting the new hourly rate for planners of $80 per hour, and $160 per meeting charge dealing with local municipal projects.
Both rates have increased by 7%.
“Is that what we pay to have Mark Van Patter or other planners?” asked Matusinec.
Clerk Lori Heinbuch said that is correct.
The rate increases for various services from the Wellington planning department range from 3% to 8% depending on the service provided.
Yake said that as chairman of the council meeting, he would refrain from comment about the county’s vision regarding the rates.
