FERGUS - Youth Unlimited/YFC/The Door are hosting a drive-through chicken dinner on Oct. 15.

“This is our only major fundraiser this year,” said Doug Calder, engagement team director, in a letter to the editor.

Tickets are $20 each for half a barbecue chicken, baked potato, coleslaw, sour cream, dinner roll and brownie.

Tickets are available at: ICS Computers, St. Andrews Church, Northstar Wealth Management, Remedy’s Rx, and any member of the Youth Unlimited/YFC/The Door team or by calling 226-962-1947.

The Door is located at the rear of 280 St. Patrick St. W.

Youth Unlimited/YFC/The Door is planning to start an after school program for Grade 6, 7 and 8 students. The program will run 3 to 6pm from Monday to Friday, and is open to a limited number of participants. Those interested in participating can contact Calder at 519-823-3890.

“Details of this program have not been finalized, as we are still waiting for direction from our local health authority,” Calder said. “We also need a few more volunteers.”

Anyone interested in volunteering can call Calder at 519-823-3890.

Youth Unlimited/YFC/The Door’s regular Friday and Saturday night Teen Drop In will also commence once the organization receives permission. The program is held from 7 to 10pm.

All money raised at the chicken dinner will support Youth Unlimited/YFC/The Door’s programs.

“Please consider purchasing a ticket for our chicken dinner,” Calder said.

Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 11.
