WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Woolwich Thrashers Junior sledge hockey team, with seven players from Wellington County, capped off a strong return to competition with a thrilling victory over the Hamilton Sledgehammers at the Ontario Sledge Hockey Association Champions Weekend earlier this month. In regular season play, the team went undefeated over eight games and earned two silver medals in tournaments along the way. In the final game, the team flipped the script against the Hamilton Sledgehammers, securing its first-ever league championship.
