Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She will be missed by her family, Donna Rhodes (Terry), Marjorie Wood (Mike Formosa), granddaughters Jennifer Metzger (Tim) and Sara Kennedy (Patrick Hardiman), plus great grandsons Alex and Ben Metzger. She has joined her husband Roy Wood, whom shared her love for over 65 years and daughter Judy Kennedy. Vi came from a large family. Her siblings Harvey, Earl, Carl, John, Lara, Verna, Ruby have predeceased her. Dorothy Cassel will miss her beloved sister. Vi was proud to give back to her community through Elora Knox Presbyterian Church, Elora Legion and The Elora Horticultural Society. Her last years she enjoyed living at Highland Manor Retirement Residence. She was sassy, feisty and fun right up to the end. Cheers Mom we love you. We raise one last glass of wine to you. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Elora Cemetery, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00pm – 4:00pm in the Wellington Room, located upstairs of the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. Donations may be made to Groves Memorial Hospital or the Elora Legion.
