It seems like the recent Puslinch Winter Classic was a success.

Councillor Ken Roth said the recent Optimist-sponsored event “was a huge success.” He estimated that in excess of $15,000 was raised during the three-day event.

Funds raised will be used to support the victims of Superstorm Sandy, which devastated portions of the U.S. eastern seaboard late last year.

Roth said there was great participation by everyone in the township. He added a lot of children were out to participate in Monday’s Family Day events as well.

“I’d like to thank township staff for entering a team, though the talent was a little limited,”  he quipped.

Mayor Dennis Lever said the event was “wonderful.”
