What moratorium?

RE: Developer greed, Sept. 23.

I have a question regarding the last letter to the editor from Eimear O’Neill stating Aaron Ciancone “managed to completely avoid the question of the Six Nations moratorium on Grand River development and the community destruction posed by the mill south development.” To claim that there is a moratorium on development in Wellington County infers a violation of law (hence moratorium) on development. While I do not agree with the development in Elora, I have not found the legal moratorium banning development.

Perhaps Eimear O’Neill can enlighten us by providing a copy of this moratorium. Without a copy of the legal moratorium (aside from the Haldimand Treaty) we are left to think and not know that it exists.
