WESTERMAN, Margaret (Peggy) Isobel
Passed away peacefully on Monday February 7, 2022 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Ken Westerman (2005), Sister to Ross Matthews (Isabel). Loving mother of Patricia Westerman (1996), Kimberley Platt (Barry), and John Westerman (Mary). Proud grandmother of Shelley (Ryan), Greg (Heather), Laura, Paige and Sydney. Great Grandmother to Kate, Grace, Wesley and Bryce. A wonderful sister-in-law and aunt to many. She will be sadly missed by best friends Doreen Golightly and Marion Main. Peggy lived her entire life in Fergus, raising her family and gathering friends. Most recently she resided at Highland Manor where she experienced the companionship and care of the residents and all of the staff. She was admired by many for her strength and grace. Peggy worked at Groves Memorial Hospital for three decades and was a long-standing member of St. James Anglican Church where her faith provided her comfort. Her passion was to travel and was fortunate to enjoy adventures to see many parts of the world. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to Dr. John Stickney. Peggy loved the sun and spent many hours pool side with family and friends. May sun shine on you in your new peaceful place with Ken and Pat. Her philosophy on life that she leaves with us all is “Do your best. Be your best”. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital Foundation. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will not be held. Interment at Belsyde Cemetery and a memorial service will be held in the Spring, with details to follow.
