West Luther 4-H learn about agricultural research at various venues
Learning about agriculture research - The West Luther 4-H field crops club met on June 20. The club visited AgriBrink, learning about tire pressure technology to reduce soil compaction from tractors and farm equipment. A second meeting, on June 27, took place at Matt and Sharon Coffey’s farm, where Matt told the club about crop history with a focus on wheat. The end of the school year was celebrated with a June 30 field trip, joining with other clubs. Elora Research Farms hosted the clubs which learned about nutrients, dairy and beef research. On July 11, the club’s third meeting happened at the Bayer Ennotville Research Farm. Members learned about early and late, and other fruit and vegetable plant diseases. Submitted photo
