WELLINGTON NORTH –  The West Luther 4-H Beef Club attended a meeting at Jim Lindsay’s beef farm on May 26.

The meeting had representatives Mike Geddes and Jarrett Hargrave from Jones Feed Mills, and Robert McKinley, representing the Beef Farmers of Ontario.

Club members traveled to different stations learning about feeding and development for 4-H heifers from Mike Geddes.

At another station, Jarrett Hargrave and Robert McKinley talked and taught about judging and how to justify reasons when placing a class. The club members got to judge their own class of Red Angus replacement heifers. Rounding off the meeting, was a talk about herd safety and herd health from Robert Mckinley.

The club extends a big “thank you” to Jim Lindsey for allowing the club to meet on his property. The club also thanks representatives that came out and shared their knowledge.
