DRAYTON – There’s a new, one-stop shop in town for massage, osteopathy, reflexology, homeopathy, physiotherapy and child and family therapy.

Drayton Massage and Osteopathy Wellness Center moved to 24 Wood St. late last year, and with the move has come a big expansion.

Five years ago, massage therapist Emma McRobb-Pronk was 20 years old when she joined Lisa Stemmler-Fulcher’s practice.

Stemmler-Fulcher has worked as a registered massage therapist (RMT) in Drayton since 2005.

In 2021, they worked out of a cute little office with a butterfly sign on Wood Street, McRobb-Pronk told the Community News, and the two took turns working in the single treatment room.

It didn’t take long for the pair to move into a bigger space in 2022, growing from one treatment room to three.

The massage team wasn’t planning to expand again in 2026, but late last year, McRobb-Pronk said, it “unfortunately needed to find a new office space – on a bit of a short timeline.

“There’s not much commercial space in the big city of Drayton,” she said with a laugh, but “luckily we know a lot of people in the community” and someone connected them with the owners of 24 Wood St., who were interested in selling.

That was a bit of a full-circle moment for McRobb-Pronk and Stemmler-Fulcher, as they returned back to the street where they first started working together – but this time with five more treatment rooms and McRobb joining Stemmler-Fulcher as co-owner.

The building has a long history.

Built in 1978, it served as Drayton’s original library, and has been home to an insurance company, an arts studio and a church, as well as the Drayton Community News

McRobb-Pronk said clients will often step inside and say something like “‘oh, my daughter’s seventh birthday was here,’” when it was an art studio, or “‘I haven’t been in here since it was a library.’”

And she said it’s an interesting layout with “very funky shaped rooms ... every single room, they’re all angular. It’s the weirdest-shape building.”

Renovations were completed between Dec. 1 and March 1, though the Drayton Massage and Osteopathy Wellness Center officially opened in January.

It has six treatment rooms and a broad expansion of services offered.

Practitioners now working out of the office include:

– RMT McRobb-Pronk;

– osteopath and RMT Stemmler-Fulcher;

– RMT Luke DiSanto;

– RMT Jillian Pasher;

–  osteopath Britney Chapman;

– reflexologist Liam Stewart;

– homeopath Chintan Patel;

– physiotherapist Kaela Southwell from Woolwich Physiotherapy; and

– Wellstead Child and Family Therapy social worker Melanie Therrien.

Drayton Massage and Osteopathy Wellness Center is holding a ribbon cutting on March 24 from 10am to noon. Community members are welcome to come out and show support.
