Wellington North street light conversion project
WELLINGTON NORTH - This summer Wellington North, in partnership with Wellington North Power, will replace existing street light fixtures with LED fixtures in Arthur and Mount Forest. The new LED street lights will reduce energy consumption, lower monthly electricity bills, provide more directed illumination and allow the township to standardize fixtures.
The funding to complete the project was approved by township council as part of its 2019 capital budget. The LED Street Lighting Retrofit Program is listed at $346,700 in the 2019 capital program highlights. The project is expected to last approximately three months.
