Wellington North appoints interim CAOs
WELLINGTON NORTH – Township operations director Matt Aston and chief building official Darren Jones have been appointed joint, interim CAOs effective June 1.
Current CAO Mike Givens’ departure for Perth East was publicly announced on March 23, with Givens stipulating he would stick around until May 31 to help smooth out a transition to new leadership.
Givens is leaving Wellington North to become CAO of Perth East.

Aston is overseeing operations, information-technology, and finance portfolios, and will onboard a new director of finance, when hired.
Jones is overseeing administration, economic development, fire services, human resources and planning portfolios.
In an April 26 press release, Mayor Andy Lennox said the township wanted to get appointments ahead of the October municipal election process, when councils are prohibited from making key decisions such as hiring a new CAO.
“Council has confidence in the leadership, communication skills, and teamwork that Matt and Darren bring,” Lennox stated.
The township has hired Waterhouse Executive Search Ltd. to recruit a new CAO.
