‘We deserve to know’
Dear Editor:
I am so proud to live in a community that benefits from a vibrant and dedicated local newspaper.
The reporting done by the Wellington Advertiser staff, specifically Chris Daponte, regarding the failure of the Town of Erin to disclose global amounts paid in settlement packages to terminated town staff has been superb.
This story is important to me because I want to know that the people working for my community are treated fairly and in accordance with the law.
I hope the information sought by the Advertiser will one day come to light, either through the IPC (Information and Privacy Commissioner) process or when we elect a new town council that decides we deserve to know this information.
