WAITE, Sharon Margaret (née Halls)
May 25, 1960 – April 9, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of a beloved wife, mother, grand-mother, and sister on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph. Surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, she completed her journey at the age of 65. She was the cherished wife and best friend of Ed for 40 wonderful years, reaching the mile-stone of just shy of their 41st anniversary. Family was the absolute center of her world, and she was a devoted mother to Nathan (Kendra) and Nicole (Devin), and the proudest grand-mother to Ryley and Abby. She is survived by her loving siblings Debra (David), Bryan (Marilyn), Terry, Tom (Annetta), and half-brother Kevin (Chelsea). She will be deeply missed by her mother-in-law Barb, as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry, Ellen, Harold (Marie), David, and Mike, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is now reunited with those who went before her: her parents Jack and Rhoda Halls, her brother-in-law Wayne, and her father-in-law John. Known for her incredibly big heart and tireless work ethic, she was a master of multi-tasking who kept her household running with grace and love. She was a woman of many talents who found joy in the simple things, whether she was knitting, reading, or working on a puzzle. A very crafty soul, she enjoyed painting in her younger years and was an exceptional cook and baker—her Christmas cookies will be a tradition deeply missed by all. Above all, her family and her siblings were the most important things in her life. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held to honour her memory. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Hospice Wellington for their compassionate care during her final days. For those who wish to honour her legacy, memorial donations to Groves Memorial Hospital, Guelph General Hospital, or Hospice Wellington would be sincerely appreciated.
