Victoria Park Seniors Centre receives $57,000 in annual funding

FERGUS – The Victoria Park Seniors Centre will receive up to $57,000 per year through Ontario’s Seniors Active Living Centres program, Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Joseph Racinsky announced on July 16.

The Victoria Park Seniors Centre offers social, health, recreational and educational programming, along with support services and volunteer opportunities. Programs are aimed at people 55 and older.

“The current funding we receive and the increased funding goes to support seniors centre programs and services for seniors in the community,” said senior services supervisor Kathryn Morgan.

Provincewide, the government is spending close to $23 million across 416 seniors active living centre programs this year.

Racinsky said meeting with “active and healthy seniors” at the centre warmed his heart.
