VAN GROOTHEEST, Richard Theodore

The Lord in his mercy took our husband, son, brother and uncle to Himself. Rick knew his time was limited and he knew where he was going. He had a full life with much travel, and many experiences. He was a smart, funny guy with the ability to laugh at himself. He dearly loved his wife and his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife Josie Van Grootheest, his stepson John Paul Mendoza, his mother Ina Medemblik (John) and his large family of brothers, sisters, in laws, nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Good Friday, April 3, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00pm, at Canadian Reformed Church of Fergus North, 6534 First Line, Fergus, Ontario. Private family interment was held prior to the service. Funeral Service was held at Fergus North on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 1:00pm. Rev. Marc Jagt officiated. Memorial donations may be made to Guelph and Area Right to Life. Arrangements are entrusted to The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home.
