Michael Anthony Turnnidge, age 101, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Born in Brighton, England, Mike lived an extraordinary life spanning more than a century. His journey took him through England, Kenya and eventually Canada, with each country holding a special place in his heart. Throughout his life, Mike worked as a teacher, sharing his knowledge and wisdom with generations of students. He made a lasting difference in the lives of so many people he taught and met along the way. The lives he touched and the people he taught will forever carry a piece of him with them. Mike married the love of his life, Sheila Rose Turnnidge, in England. Together they shared 42 wonderful years of marriage and built a life and family across three countries. Sheila departed this world far too early. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Steve Turnnidge; Penny Maxwell and her husband, Dave Whalley; Simon Turnnidge and his wife, Nadine; and Caroline Mouawad and her husband, Tony. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, along with extended family and many friends. A man of Roman Catholic faith, Mike's life will be remembered with love and gratitude. After so many years apart, may he now be reunited with his beloved Sheila Rose, together again in God's loving embrace, resting in eternal peace. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish (760 St. David Street North, Fergus) on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 1:00pm In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
