TURNER, Karen Elizabeth (née: Leighton)
Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus on Monday August 15, in her 69th year. Predeceased by her husband Rob, step-son Ashley, father Alvin, mother Helen, brother John and sister Jean. Loving mother of Jennifer, Jessica and Shawn, and nana to Khari. Karen will be forever in the hearts of her best friends Rita and Lynne, as well as many other friends and family members. Everyone called mom the Neighbourhood Watch. She was the most loving and kind hearted person, and always looked out for everyone. Following her retirement from Interpump in Fergus, Karen loved playing dice and watching crime TV, but most of all she loved Bear Lake, a place very near and dear to her. Special thanks to all of the PSW’s and nurses at Groves, as well as Dr. Jones and Dr. Lin. The biggest thanks goes to Grammie for the wonderful care over the past 2 years. Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11am until 1pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Canadian Down Syndrome Society or the North Wellington Special Olympics, and are greatly appreciated by her family
