Tree planting partnership with Gund Company and Centre Wellington Hydro

Tree planting – The Gund Company in Fergus was the location of a tree planting event on Oct. 12, held in partnership with Centre Wellington Hydro as part of the utility company’s plan to plant one tree for each customer who switches from paper to online billing. To date, approximately 300 trees have been planted in the industrial area of Fergus. On Oct. 12, more than 120 trees and shrubs were planted with the help of Centre Wellington Hydro employees, Neighbourwoods volunteers, Centre Wellington staff and Gund Company staff. The trees were donated by the Green Legacy Program. Coordinating the effort were, from left: Michael Chapman and Barb Cooper of The Gund Company, Centre Wellington Hydro president Wayne Dyce, Centre Wellington urban forestry project manager Mathieu Alain and Neighbourwoods coordinator Toni Ellis.
