As Puslinch council reviewed the revised conditions for draft approval of phase two of the Fox Run development by Sloot Construction, traffic issues cropped up as a potential concern.

Fox Run is a housing development located at Part Lot 19, Concession 8. Sloot hopes to build 15 residential units on about 35 acres there.

Wellington County planner Sarah Wilhelm said conveyance of the stormwater detention area west of Lot 2 to the township would need to be completed prior to draft plan approval.

Councillor Wayne Stokley spoke about traffic calming where required.

“Who would be involved with that?” he asked, suggesting the township road superintendent would need to be involved.

Clerk Brenda Law said the engineers would also be involved.

Stokley said that was one of his original concerns, especially since the entrance to the development was off a curve in the road.

“There’s going to be a school bus stop there. I hope they keep that in mind with the traffic calming,” Stokley said.

Mayor Dennis Lever said it is an issue that came up at the public meeting as well.
