Trade talks ‘broken off’?

 RE: Better before Liberals, July 23.

I cant commend the writer enough for her questions and accurate answers. I would add another one... Recently  the Liberals and the U.S. negotiating teams announced tariff talks had broken off. The news immediately assumed the U.S. broke off talks but now know we did.

If we broke off now and there’s nothing to negotiate, where’s the details we should know what we walked away from? 

Manufacturing jobs are bleeding, there’s no investment in the existing high-paid jobs, like the auto industry for one – they are fleeing to U.S. I came from auto parts industry and I am hearing they are considering the same due to no deal to work with.

Does Prime Minister Mark Carney even want a deal or are we going to become the 28th European Union country? I hear nothing from Liberals opposed to that idea.

*Editor’s note: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed several times he is cutting off trade talks with Canada, but there is no evidence indicating talks have broken off altogether. Canadian officials say they are committed to negotiations.
