The Town of Minto will contribute up to $100 worth of supplies for a barbecue for volunteers following an Earth Day cleanup event here.

The Norwell District High School Community Environmental Leadership Program (CELP) and the Harriston Trail Association are planning a cleanup event on May 4. The event will begin at the IODE Park gazebo in Harriston at 10am.

The municipality has supported the cleanup every year with donations of hot dogs, buns, condiments and drinks for the volunteers, noted clerical financial assistant Annilene McRobb in a report to council at its April 16 meeting.

McRobb noted CELP is “a great supporter and planner of community environmental events in Minto.

“For such a small financial amount we are supporting the cleanup of one of our communities,” she noted.

Council approved the donation.
