Tip of the hat to Steve McCabe

I have to say I was quite impressed to read up on last week’s Wellington North council meeting. It has been a long time since I heard anyone even mention either the Damascus park or the snowmobile trail issues.

As a long time resident of the area I, like Steve, spent a lot of time in the park both as a youngster and a teenager, many good memories. I raised my family in Damascus and I truly believe that marsh becomes a part of you that you will always look back on.

That being said I reside in New Brunswick now and I have to tell you tax payers are not getting what they deserve for their dollar. I can go to a different park every day of the month and all within miles of one another. And literally thousands of miles of snowmobile and ATV trails are groomed and tended to almost as well as the highways with many miles of each through conservation land.

Keep up the good work, Steve, hopefully you will get somewhere with these and other issues.
