FERGUS – Two Centre Wellington community organizations are teaming up for a spine-tingling good time.
The Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Centre Wellington (BBBS) are hosting “Haunted Hub” later this month.
The family-friendly Halloween-themed event promises eerie excitement for all ages, while raising vital funds to support youth mentorship, family services, and community programming in Wellington County, officials say.
Haunted Hub will debut on Oct. 25 at the Skyline Community Hub in Fergus, featuring immersive Halloween experiences, family-friendly entertainment and sweet treats.
“Haunted Hub is a creative and fun way to bring the community together while fundraising for programs that make a difference year-round,”stated resource centre executive director Alyssandra Kent.
“We’re excited to launch a Halloween event that’s not only fun but meaningful,” added BBBS executive director Anneli Segura. “Funds raised from Haunted Hub will go directly toward mentorship programs and essential family support services for both organizations.”
Community members, local businesses and volunteers are encouraged to get involved through sponsorship, donations or volunteering.
The event takes place at the Skyline Community Hub, 900 Tower St. in Fergus, on Oct. 25 from 2 to 6pm.
The cost is $5 per person and highlights include:
– haunted walk-through experiences through BBBS’ Hive and the Community Resource Centre’s EarlyON Centre;
– trick-or-treat stations;
– pumpkin contests;
– halloween games and crafts for all ages including toddler and preschool;
– drinks and treats; and
– more surprises for the brave of heart.
