Thieves might not be getting rich, but for the second time culprits have tapped into a local diesel supply.
And Wellington North wants to turn the taps off to the supply. A recent joint works, water, and sewer committee noted that for a second time diesel fuel was stolen from the West Luther works yard.
Council had already reviewed the plans to install security cameras and the department is in the process of getting quotes.
The minutes of the meeting recommended consideration to installing security at the other works yards, especially the central works yard in Kenilworth. The committee is moving forward with installing the cameras at the West Luther yard.
