The Optimist Club of Fergus hosted electronics waste collection event
Electronics drop off - The Optimist Club of Fergus held an electronic waste collection event on April 30 at the corner of Beatty Line and St. Andrew Street and collected well over a ton of old monitors, cameras, fax machines, televisions, batteries and printers and other electronics. Cars were lined up steadily from 8 am on to drop off electronics that most likely would have ended up at a landfill site. Although billed as a fundraiser, the event provided residents a convenient and environmentally safe manner to dispose of those items. Thanks to Dundee Recycling Inc. and to Dale Kropf, for their help and cooperation and to our Optimist Club volunteers for making this event a rousing success. Submitted photo
