Teddy Bear Caper back at Wellington County Museum

FERGUS – The Teddy Bear Caper will be returning to the Wellington County Museum and Archives in Fergus on June 21 from 12 to 4pm.

The event will also include the annual Strawberry Festival.

The Teddy Bear Caper includes a parade along at 1pm, along with the teddy bear contests. 

Entertainment is slated to be by Wayne Langille with others dressed in bear suits giving out hugs. 

The contests are for children up to 12 and one contest is for seniors. 

Bears must be plush and the winner of each category will receive $5 and tickets for sponges to toss at Art Davidson, who will be in the stocks collecting donations for the food bank. 

Contest categories include:

– most Elvis looking bear;

– smallest bear;

– largest bear;

– best dressed bear;

– most Scottish looking;

– the teddy bear dressed exactly like its owner holding it;

– person with the most teddy bears;

– best dancing bear – dancing in the arms of its owner;

– the teddy bear which travelled the farthest with its owner to get to the event;

– bear with funniest name;

– youngest person cuddling five teddy bears; and

– oldest person cuddling 10 or more bears.
