SUTHERLAND, Gladys Mary (Horsman)
Gladys Sutherland, 94, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2019, at The Elliott Long Term Care, Guelph, Ontario. Born December 2, 1924. Loving wife of Marven Sutherland, for almost 75 years. Survived by her children Wayne Sutherland (Anne), Toronto, Marlene Irvine (Ken), Elmira and daughter in law Edwina, Ottawa. Predeceased by son Rick (2014). Also survived by her grandchildren, Kevin (Julie), Stuart (Shelley) and Brent (Kate) Irvine, Susan (Stephen) and John (Cassie) Sutherland and great grandchildren Axel, Rachel, Owen and Eli Irvine, sister in law Beatrice Fairweather, (Moncton), and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Hazel and Clive Horsman. Predeceased by her siblings Mildred, Joyce, Jack, Allen and Truman. She loved her family unconditionally and it was the focus of her life. She enjoyed volunteering, cheering on the Blue Jays, cross stitching and playing euchre. Thank you to the caring and compassionate care she received at The Elliott Long Term Care for the past three years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, Guelph. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A memorial service officiated by Pastor Mike will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to The Elliott Community, Guelph, Ontario.
