Studio Art Quilt Association sponsors 'Whisper quilting' project

CENTRE WELLINGTON – A whisper quilting project sponsored by the Studio Art Quilt Association is on display at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex until Oct. 29.

All squares were completed by local quilters. Whisper quilting is based on the premise of “old whisper tag” or the telephone game, during which someone whispers something into another’s ear and that message comes back different than the original one. Here, a quilter has a photo and quilts a square of their interpretation of it. That square goes to another quilter for their interpretation and so on.
